Tribute To The Founder

As a young man, Pastor Dick E. Edgar had an earnest desire for more of the things of God. After his ordination in 1986, Pastor Dick had a call to start Great Commission Church and Outreach Center in Marshalltown, Iowa. Dick had a great love for people and a desire to encourage their faith and calling. He emphasized a balanced gospel and a rigid adherence to the Word of God being final authority in one's life. "What does the Word say?" was a staple question at every service. Since his passing in December 2009, Pastor Dick has left a legacy of character and faith for his family, friends, and church to look toward.
